Gift Registry
Since we have been living together
for over a year, and we’ve both been independently living for many years, we
don’t really feel like we need wedding gifts in order to set up a household.
Besides, we feel like your attendance at our wedding (or your well wishes) is
the only gift we need from you.
However, if you feel strongly about
buying us something to commemorate our marriage, we would urge you to consider
donating to a charity, either one you feel strongly about supporting, or one of
the ones we feel strongly about which are listed below.
Thank you!

Public Square Cleveland, OH 44114
A college scholarship fund
memorializing Lance Corporal Edward “Augie” Schroeder
II, one of the fourteen Marines killed in the line of duty on August 3rd,
2005 while serving in Iraq, has been established with Cleveland Scholarship
Programs by his loving family. This
endowed scholarship fund is the first of its kind created in memory of a fallen
soldier of the Iraq War to be managed and administered by Cleveland Scholarship
Programs.
The twenty-three old Schroeder was a
graduate of Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey. He enlisted in the Marine Reserves in March,
2002 and was called to active duty in January of 2005. He is survived by his sister, Amanda
Schroeder, and parents, Rosemary Palmer and Paul Schroeder.
“Augie was
a particularly kind and benevolent person who gave to both his community and
his country,” says Mrs. Palmer. “We know
that we could never match the sacrifice that Augie
made on behalf of his country, but we wanted to establish a legacy in his name
to give the option of college to kids who otherwise might not be able to
finance their education. This
scholarship program will assist in ensuring that his contribution lives on.”
