The site above or the phone number will allow you to remove yourself from the lists that the four credit bureaus give to companies for pre-approved offers. This will cut down on the junk mail you get somewhat. Also it removes one more potential way for someone to get a loan or credit card in your name and begin the process of identity theft. The website does look a little unprofessional but I have checked it out and it is legit. If you don’t feel comfortable doing it on the web then you can call and complete the same process.

Oh and in case anyone hasn’t done it yet don’t forget to enter your phone numbers in the National Do Not Call Registry at https://www.donotcall.gov/.
